No Patient preparation is needed

to identify the presence of the pathogenic organism (bacteria or fungus) in the pus. Common organisms isolated are S.aureus, Pseudomonas, S.pyogenes, E.coli, Beta Hemolytic Streptococci, Coliform bacilli and Proteus species.
