Color Doppler is an imaging test that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the lower limbs. In this type of color Doppler, a computer changes the sound waves into colors that show the speed and the direction of the blood flow in the large arteries and veins in the legs.
A Doppler ultrasound may help diagnose many conditions, including Blood clots. Poorly functioning valves in your leg veins, can cause blood or other fluids to pool in your legs (venous insufficiency) Heart valve defects, and congenital heart disease.
